Teachers will now have the ability to provide custom assignment prompts to further encourage student reflection and feedback.
Assignment Prompts
This feature allows teachers to customize assignment prompts for their students.
- While on the dashboard click the Add Assignment Button to open up the Create New Assignment form.
- Once on the form, teachers can type their prompts in the Student Comment Prompt field.
- To make the prompt required for student submission, click the Make Student Required for Submission toggle.
- More information can be found by hovering over the green tooltip on the right.
Student Prompt Submission
Students will now see the assignment prompt when they are uploading their submission.
- When students go to upload their submission, they will see the assignment prompt.
- Note: If the prompt was set to required when the assignment was created, students will not be able to complete submission until they have responded to the prompt.
- An assignment without a prompt will instead show ‘Comment’ as the prompt.
Viewing Student Prompt Responses
Teachers can view each student’s response to the assignment prompt when viewing the submission.
- When viewing assignment submissions, the assignment prompt and response will appear in the top right corner of the Comment Bank.
- For longer prompts, the extra text will be hidden and can be revealed by hovering over the prompt title.
- Note: Individual prompts will be attached to their appropriate submission version.
