Giving Freeform Feedback

When leaving a new comment, you can add freeform markings right on the assignment.


  1. Click on an assignment like you would to add a new comment. This will bring up the New Comment box.

  2. Click on the marker icon to enter Freeform mode.


  3. The freeform toolbar will pop up and  you can start drawing.

    1. There are 3 drawing modes: Pen, boxes, and circles. It will always start in “Pen” mode.

    2. The color defaults to pine, but you can change it by clicking on the paint roller drop down icon. 

    3. If you make a mistake, you can undo by clicking the undo icon. 

    4. When you finish, or if you no longer want to leave a comment, you can click the “Cancel” or “Send” buttons. Cancel will cancel out of everything with that comment, and Send will finish it and send it to the student. If the text box was left empty, it will be filled in automatically with “Freeform.”

    5. When working with multiple page assignments, you can only draw on the page that you clicked to leave the comment on.
